Summary/Abstract: The present study addresses a number of issues related to the possibility of using the Phillips curve in macroeconomic analysis. It was started from the significance of this tool in analyzing the relation between inflation and unemployment, two major imbalances always present in the life of contemporary society, without a dependence on dimension and on level of economic development, were underlined the reference moments for this tool evolution through mentioning and characterizing the most significant contributions, and were disseminate a series of contributions that may be useful for macroeconomic policy makers.
