Summary/Abstract: In April 1958, the Egyptian minister for war, Marshall Abd al-Hakim Amir, turned to the Czechoslovak minister of national defence, Lieutenant General Bohumír Lomský, with a request for assistance in building an Egyptian military school. The Czechoslovak government accepted the request. Czechoslovakia started to build a university for the needs of the Egyptian armed forces in February the following year. This broad and in all respects complicated operation was not completed until 1977.
