Summary/Abstract: We studied indicators of water-salt metabolism and renal function in Biathletes high of sports skills in the plain and in the midland. Water-salt metabolism in sportsmen in the Midland compare to the plain has been resulted in a decrease of sodium, potassium and urea excretion and characterized that for the period of adaptation to high-altitude hypoxia. Increased reabsorption of fluid-free osmotic water in biathletes at mid-altitude area resulted in maintenance of blood plasma osmotic concentration after physical exercises. Sodium/potassium coefficient of saliva was lower in biathletes at mid-altitude area that was due to increased corticosteroid activity during training process. Biathlon training process in mountainous area, after a period of sharp adaptation – 14 days, caused higher activity of the system regulating water-salt metabolism than at the plain.
