Summary/Abstract: In Serbia, popular culture significantly influences political and social values. The popular “turbo-folk” genre, which promotes nationalist feelings similar to those of the 1990s, is now being challenged by a new voice, one that promotes discussion about social inequality and the rights of minorities.
