Summary/Abstract: Until recently it was commonly assumed that caring for children is the domain of women. Modern research clearly shows that in most rich countries the involvement of fathers in caring for their children has been growing. Care ceases to be treated as a burden that parents want to avoid, and it becomes a form of investment in the child. Although the involvement of fathers is growing, it does not mean that they particpate in care eqully to women. The purpose of this article is to identify differences in the level of feminisation of caring tasks (dressing, driving, care during illness, help with lessons, fun, snooze) in households of parents of young children in 16 countries. Furthermore, the article points out the differences between countries in terms of involvement of fathers in caring individual tasks depending on the economic model of the family. The survey results reveal that the level of feminization varies considerably depending on the type of actions: the largest is for dress and care for a sick child, and the smallest for play with a child. Additionally, significant differences in the level of feminisation of caring tasks depending on econonomic model of the family have been observed.
