Summary/Abstract: The old medieval town of Târgşor is located about 8 km west of Ploiesti; its territory is crossed by the Leaota River.Archaeological research in the old fair began in 1956 when the archeologist Gh. Cantacuzino started the first trench in the perimeter of the Voievodal Court.The first documentary attestation of the town of Târgsor dates from August 6, 1413, when the ruler Mircea the Elder issue a commercial decree which granted privileges to Brașov merchants. The existing ruins, from which were noticed those of three churches, attracted the attention of historians and architects. The recent investigations provided new data about structures and necropolis discovered in the old town of Târgșor. In present paper we try to briefly present some of the chronological elements used in dating the town of Târgșor.
