Summary/Abstract: Archives in accordance with legal regulations, provide the public holdings and every natural and legal entity, as well as domestic and foreign citizens can apply archives and look for a certificate of data from archival material they are interested. the authors of this paper present their experiences regarding the use of archives in public and private law purposes after ten years of work on these matters in the archives of Vojvodina. the paper also shows some characteristics of the most commonly used archive funds.
