Pastoral Theology and Modernity

Summary/Abstract: The article deals with modernity and its challenges. Analysis of theories of particular religion sociologists and theologians points out to complexity of the topic. The aim of pastoral theology is to reflect what is happening in current society and, despite contradictions in understanding of modernity, to point out to the fact that theology fulfills its purpose when dealing with current social life. Its role is to percieve the issues of individuals and to stay by them by fi nding answers.
