Summary/Abstract: It is known that a large part of the old proper names are discovered in microtoponymy (names of small geographic places). Abundant anthroponymic material has been preserved in the toponymy of the former Radomir district in SW Bulgaria. Forty-five local names were subjected to study. The application of a typically onomastic method – reconstruction of the names and their forms - made possible the restoration of proper names which had been out of use since long. Using the anthroponymic literature so far published in this country, an attempt was made for the names to be approximately dated, taking into account their relative antiquity.
