Summary/Abstract: Unethical work behaviors have represented one of the most frequently undertaken topics in managing science in recent years. The consequences of unethical behaviors are measurable outcomes, both financial and organizational. Therefore researchers try to understand predictors of this type of behaviors. In the present study it is shown that one of the determinants of such behaviors can be subjective “concepts about human nature” described in four types: economic, imperfect, social and humanistic man. Based on the study on 274 employees of various organizations it was shown that „the concept of economic man” and „imperfect man” which was possessed by the individual, directly explained unethical behaviors in the workplace. In the case of „the concept of social man” and „humanist” the relationship of these variables was not obtained. However, an „indirect” relationship between these concepts, through the mediation role of moral competencies was shown.
