Summary/Abstract: Annual Conferences of archivists in Bosnia-Herzegovina continued to be organized after the completion of war in 1995., that is from 1996. to 2011. In the past 16 years 11 conferences were held. A total amount of 175 articles were submitted, including 40 by the archivists of Archives of Tuzla Canton. Consideting a vast variety of topics it can be concluded that signifi cant consultation of mustered archival knowledge is present as it contributed to popularizing the archival profession. And there is no important archival issues that was left untreated at these symposia. One of the weaknesses of the consultation held in the inappropriate use of agreed and skillfully shaped attitudes, which often be incorporated into the archival legislation (for example the conclusions of Zlaća). However, this is not always the case. We think the reason for this is the fact that archivists failed to impose their expert views to the authorities and the founders of which the archive material and human resources depend. This opens up other questions concerning the place and role of archival activity in society, the question of its autonomy and professionalism, as a last resort, directly or indirectly refl ect on the status of activities in society. Transition of Bosnian society shows major weaknesses. Archivists must recognize them and constantly seek their proper resolution
