Summary/Abstract: The semantics and the functions of the roadside crosses are observed in the article that is based on the archival and field ethnographic material of Polesia, Volyn and Slobozhanshchyna. Also in this article author observed scientific literature about tradition of roadsides crosses in Ukraine, Poland and The USA. Author analysed origins of this tradition On Ukrainian teritory and existence of tradition nowadays.
