Summary/Abstract: The work studies the modes of existence of the lyrical subject in bivernacular poetry by Dragutin Domjanić. The first part constructs a theoretical framework by relying on some of the most contemporary postulates on the status and different presentations of the lyrical subject (lyrical »I«) as the basic textual focalizing instance in the sphere of poetry. The second part is dedicated exclusively to detecting the types of the lyrical subject and communicational situations in Domjanić’s poetry. In this respect, special attention is also given to the types of the addressee and equally visible differences between the Kajkavian and Štokavian »mode of the lyrical subject«.
