Summary/Abstract: The Evangelical Counsels, if understood properly, lead a Christian to a dynamic engagement in the practice of love, and through that, towards deeper commitment to his neighbors. Service to others requires of him a personal maturity manifested, on the natural level, in harmony of spirit, and on the supernatural level, in the mystical union with God.
