Summary/Abstract: Since the 1980s a considerable increase in foreign direct investment can be seen in the world. After the political transformation post-socialist countries became a popular location of foreign direct investment in the 1990s. According to the last Ernst & Young Report, Central and Eastern Europe is the fourth most attractive region in the world. The Czech Republic is a country in the region which significantly solicits for foreign direct investment . The Czech Republic thanks to a system of incentives for investors hope to attract more direct investment. The aim of the article is to present the Czech Republic as an important business location of foreign direct investment in Central and Eastern Europe, and to show changes in the Czech law connected with FDI.
