Neolithic Jewelry in the Republic of Macedonia

Summary/Abstract: Since the beginning of the development of human culture, jewelry had a special place in the life of the man who had more importance, mainly to separate the owner from his tribe with something special. Increasing the number of items, i.e. jewelry, he wanted to emphasize his own social status. The paper presents Neolithic jewelry discovered at the Neolithic settlements in Republic of Macedonia, in chronological framework of early end to the Late Neolithic. The paper presents shapes and groups of jewelry through the basic division: jewelry for the head and neck, breast jewelry, jewelry for the hands and cult jewelry.
