On the Status, Motivation and Function of the Names of Railway Stations in the Region of Ústí nad Labem

Summary/Abstract: The study deals with description of current state of railway stations names in the region of Ústí nad Labem. On the grounds of analysis of 211 names of railway stations in the Ústí nad Labem region we discovered that 135 names were fully in compliance with place name marking city or urban area in which cadaster or in its imminent proximity railway stations were located. From the remaining 76 names contained 44 names distinguish an atribute as a proper name, 31 names an appellative, 1 name occured in a mixed appellatively-proprial form (1 name).
