Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to reveal characteristic features of the local identity of the people residing in Patrakeevka village locatedin Primorsky district of Arkhangelsk region. The study is based on the field data obtained during the folklore-ethnographic expeditionof the Northern Arctic Federal University to the village. The local traditional fishing and sea hunting practices had a significantimpact on the development of the self-identification image of the studied indigenous community. The well-preserved historical andcultural memory is an integral part of the local identity of the village inhabitants. Our research led to the conclusion that the ethnicand cultural traditions of the village residents can be characterized as a local type of Pomor culture.
