Summary/Abstract: This paper focuses on the unique texts published in 1634 in Levoča as M. Luther’s Catechism. From the linguistic point of view, it obtains two very different parts: actually Luther’s catechism translated by three superintendents and already published in 1612, on the one hand, and Introduction and three “small books” Rosarium Animae, Way of Praying and Spiritual Songs, on the other hand, added to the Catechism by Lutheran priest D. Pribiš. The first part was written in Czech only with a small amount of Slovak features, therefore the language of the second part is hybrid one, combining Czech and Slovak genetic elements. The main genetic Slovak elements from Rosarium Animae and Way of Praying are characterized in this paper.
