Summary/Abstract: The article is the literary biography of the Kashubian amateur of folklore – Paweł Szefka. He wrote mainly socio-ritual dramas, describing Kashubian customs. His most significant works were: Sobótka, Gwiżdże, Dëgusë and Wyzwoliny kosiarza. Except from writing, he was also collecting ethnographic materials, especially those related to Kashubian music, instruments and dances. He was one of the founders of Kashubian – Pomeranian Association, the largest association converging the Kashubians.
