Multilingualism of Linde’s Dictionary of Polish (Second Edition)

Summary/Abstract: The dictionary entries in Linde’s dictionary contain huge amounts of foreign equivalents for comparison purposes, presented especially for users and researchers of Polish but also potentially interesting for others. Those examples are usually provided with special abbreviations; a majority of them, however, are not defined in the dictionary, and not used in a consistent way. In the paper, a classification of the languages and dialectspresented in the dictionary is proposed, full with the lists of their abbreviations. Some questions of digitalisation of the Linde’s dictionary are also taken up.
