Summary/Abstract: An attempt is made in the paper to elucidate and work out the details of the principal elements in the development of the epigraphic script not only in a chronological but also in a territorial aspect. The study is based on observations about the drawing of the so far known dated inscriptions of the 12th–14th centuries. For comparison have been used the Cyrillic epigraphic monuments of the same type from the Balkan Peninsula and Russia, wall inscriptions and manuscripts. The observations about the drawing of the epigraphic monuments from the Second Bulgarian Kingdom show a uniform graphic tradition and a comparatively rapid exchange of graphic methods between the different regions. All the drawings of the encountered graphemes, ligature combinations, diacritical and other marks, are shown in the palaeographic tables.
