Summary/Abstract: Contemporary migration processes, which include a growing group of people, not only contribute to changes in the social structures of states, the economy and social space, but above all they affect the migrants themselves. Mental health is one of the most important factors conditioning the proper functioning of both the individual and society. Mental health problems affect particularly migrants, who due to the experienced changes, problems, stress are exposed to the emergence of various types of mental disorders. Migrants are a group at increased risk of morbidity due to the number of changes undergone and they often experience the negative effects of migration. Epidemiology indicates the increase in the prevalence of mental disorders among migrants, which shows the scale of the problem. Preventive measures and access to treatment is not just a problem for the state that the migrant leaves, but also for the host society. Unfortunately, there is little action taken to improve and protect the mental health of various types of migrants.
