Summary/Abstract: A study is made of the data in the proskomidian Beadroll of the “St. John the Forerunner” (Prodrome) Monastery in the Demirhissar area, Republic of Macedonia, which is kept at the National History Museum in Sofia, inventory No. 29026. Their analysis shows that the beadroll was most probably started in 1549–1550. The entries were kept up to the end of the 19th с. The beadroll contains names of bishops from the Ohrid diocese, of monks and nuns from 20 monasteries, priests and laymen from nearly 160 settlements situated in a vast territory of Macedonia and Albania. Among the names of monks from Prodrome are discovered eminent men of letters, as well as donors of mural paintings and icons in the cloister.
