Summary/Abstract: The Polish College and the Polish Institute in Rome during the Second Vatican Council acted as strong bases of support for the Polish Council Fathers. They were not only their main place of residence, but also centers for bishops where they received all necessary assistance – ranging from transport through material support, and ending on the organization of their daily life. In addition – especially the Polish Institute beside Via Pierto Cavallini, where his residence had Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski – constituted as a place for meetings and discussions for the Polish participants of the council, which were organized every week. During such meetings they worked out their position and proposals, presented afterwards on a council meeting by a Bishop chosen by the Polish Primate.
