Summary/Abstract: In 1919 in Łomża a seminary was founded within the Sejny diocese. After the establishment of the Diocese of Łomża in 1925 the seminary educated clergy for the new diocese. The teaching of the church’s history was present since the beginning of the university. The subject under discussion has been taught by 9 lecturers. Two professors were independent researchers. Titles and degrees were earn in Poland and abroad. Some professors left behind numerous scienti c publications. Some lecturers involved themselves in teaching activities and strictly scienti c ones also outside the diocese, at state colleges and universities.
