Summary/Abstract: The review examines the monograph "Kārlis Brencēns" by art historian Marita Bērziņa (Riga, 2008), dealing with the Latvian stained glass artist and pedagogue Kārlis Brencēns (1879-1951). His creative career was closely related to Stieglitz Central School of Technical Drawing in St. Petersburg, also shaped by foreign impulses and studies at Felix Gaudin studio in Paris.
