Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the essay is to trace the reception of Jacque Derrida’s late texts on religion and issues rooted in theology. From this perspective, a comparison is made between his Polish and Anglo-Saxon reception, revealing major differences between them and indicating a possible (and, according to the article’s author, desirable) direction for further Polish interpretations of deconstruction. Treating post-secular thought as a contemporary spectre of Derrida’s thought on ethics and religious creates the possibility for salvaging individual experience, which has eluded the grand narratives of secularism and religion, but has established a close relationship with the secret experience of literature.
