Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to gain a deeper understanding of the growth potential of the Swedish economy, improve¬ments in the financial-policy framework in Sweden, and the range of actions taken by the Swedish authorities in the crisis. In the present paper, I focus on the opening up of Sweden’s financial system through external link¬ages, the vulnerabilities associated with Sweden’s financial openness, and spreads and market volatility in Sweden.
