Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to discuss the work of the United Nations Security Council(SC) in 2015. The analysis is mainly based on SC’s documents and reports by organizationsmonitoring the SC’s activity (e.g. Security Council Report). The first partconcerns the actions against the “Islamic State”, and it indicates different measuresundertaken by the Security Council in order to combat terrorist groups. The secondpart is devoted to problems related with supporting the rule of law in states emergingfrom crises or armed conflicts. The third part describes the main changes in thepractice of peacekeeping operations. In the fourth part, the author discusses the reformof the SC (mainly the right to veto) and the election of a new Secretary Generalof the United Nations.
