Summary/Abstract: The Historic Antecedents of bonum coniugum in the Latin Patristic and Conciliar Reflexion and the Influence of the Pio-Benedictine Code. In order to better understand the theme of marital love in defining the sacrament of marriage, the study describes the tradition that surrounds it; from there the author analyzes the role and the legal basis, starting from the Council of Trent and up to the 1917 Pio-Benedictine Code.
