Summary/Abstract: The text shows the basic notions of the Jewish interpretation of the Bible such as: putting the main accent on the Pentateuch, the necessity of the Bible reading in the original Hebrew language, the creative development of the Torah Laws through the midrashic interpretations. The examples taken from the Talmud are also presented, which show the Jewish awareness of the existence of the New Testament and the Christian hermeneutics. The common feature of the Christian and the secular Jewish Bible reading is the bigger interest in the prophetic books of the Bible. The sacred duty of every interpretation of the Bible is to prove that all human beings were created in God’s image.
