Summary/Abstract: According to Jefim Osowski, the philosophical and pedagogical heritage of the Russian émigré after the outbreak of the Russian Revolution in Russia would not be so impressive had it not been for Vasiliy Zenkovskiy. On the one hand, he was a significant figure of the Russian academic émigré, while on the other hand, he was one of the main organizers of the Russian émigré’s intellectual life in Western Europe, who fulfilled this role with appropriate humility and devotion. Thanks to Zenkovskiy’s personal engagement and activeness, several representatives of pre-revolutionary Russian academic life were able to continue their activity in exile. Several outstanding representatives of the pedagogical movement can be numbered among them, including Sergei Hessen, Lew Zander, Igor Lagovskiy and Sergei Chetvernikov. The pedagogical ideas developed by Zenkovskiy in exile clearly corresponded with the research that had already conducted earlier in Kiev. He was also open to ideas that were thought of or were spoken of for the first time in exile. This article attempts to set out the influence of these ideas on Zenkovskiy’s activity and pedagogical intuition in the light of his personal experience.
