Summary/Abstract: The article aims to provide a brief overview of the new round of negotiations in Cyprus, which started in May 2015 following Mustafa Akıncı’s election as the new Turkish Cypriot president. Based on the review of official statements from the two sides and the United Nations, as well as media coverage, the contribution argues that significant progress has been achieved by the two leaders during the past six months of negotiations. A referendum in the spring of 2016 is on the cards.
