Central parts of small towns as local structural nodes in metropolitan regions

Summary/Abstract: This article presents reflections on the role of centres of small towns as localstructural nodes in the polycentric space of the metropolitan region. After explaining thetheoretical assumptions of the research approach to this issue, the author described theproblematic situation of the central part of Skawina near Cracow and outlined proposalsconcerning municipal projects to be financed by the European Union.
