Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is the critical analysis of German sports enterprises` activity in the area of sustainable development. Since 1994 the Basic Law of the Federal Republic of Germany has contained the principle of sustainable development as a main goal of the country. Being conscious of its corporate social responsibility, professional soccer leagues sports enterprises (1.Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga) also joined the action. Those enterprises implement various projects related to such areas as: generational justice, quality of life, social cohesion. The paper will present the main initiatives taken by sports subjects including environmental and socio-cultural objectives and thus responding to the challenges which German society has to face.
