Summary/Abstract: This paper deals with the literary technique of metafiction in Doris Lessing’s novel The Golden Notebook and with some of the ways of its realization. The paper attempts to analyze the problem of presenting the truth in novel writing, or the representation of reality in fiction, which is one of the main preoccupations of the novel’s protagonist, Anna Wulf.
