Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is revealing the practical perspective of self-government elections in 2014. Implementing the new system of election changed the current capacity of the election process. Voting according to the principles of First Past The Post system implicates new trends, which can expose to the danger of local democracy in the future. The author is searching the answer to questions: whether there is a influence of plurality voting systems on structural and organizational transformations of election committees and which of main issues of election law appeared during selfgovernment elections. He also is collating interpretative inaccuracies of Polish election law with the practice of functioning election committees in small communes. The author is looking for the relationship between the plurality voting system in singlemember constituencies and a possible cartelization of the political scene in a commune as the effect of current regulations. The article is enriched with numerous examples of legal obstacles for members of an election committees during conducting the electoral campaign at the local level. The result of conducted analysis are guidelines (amendments) in relation to the Polish election law, which could improve the pejorative side-effects principles of the electoral system. According to the suggestion of the author of the paper their failure to consider can have repercussion with the legitimacy and the usefulness of applying this electoral system in the future.
