Summary/Abstract: The author discusses different approaches to family policy in the academic discourse as well as in the field of social praxis. This is a contextual frame for analysis of evolution of social policy toward family in Poland after 1989, including recently implemented governmental program ‘The Family 500+’. The author stresses that the structural key arguments for family policy are beyond ideological clashes and family policy needs to be developed with political and social consensus. Presenting frames of family policy as a social investment policy, the author refers to remarks and recommendations presented by Brigitte Berger and Peter Berger.
