Summary/Abstract: This article represents analysis of the structure of business processes at the Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski as well as the results from analytical research of processes related to teaching staff administration and students administrative services. Three of the presently working groups of processes have been described in details – “Hiring part-time lecturer”, “Processing a request for aleave of absence from a teacher” and the provision of administrative services for students. While conducting process analysis some weak points as well as improvement opportunities were outlined. Identified issues include overlapping of responsibilities and steps in the process of execution theseprocesses. For the selected processes a new process design blueprint was proposed, the implementationof which should improve administrative services via clearing redundancies in the process, clearer definition of responsibilities and improved visibility for management. We hope the questions raisedin this article would provoke a discussion on how the university defines quality for its processes and how this quality can be measured.
