Summary/Abstract: This paper will present the implementation of the E-learning System BISER at the Department of Comparative Literature and Librarianship, Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo. BISER is a result of cooperation between the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb realized through Basileus Erasmus Mundus project. The system is based on an open-source virtual learning environment (VLE) called MOODLE. With the implementation and active use of BISER VLE we are trying to achieve the following goals: improve quality of university education, provide teachers and students to assume new roles in the learning environment, increase competitiveness of university programs and teach students how to use lifelong learning technology. The goal of this implementation is to improve the quality of education at the Faculty of Philosophy in accordance with the Bologna process.
