Summary/Abstract: The first contacts between the representatives of the revived Polish state with Sorbs occurred already during a peace conference in Paris in the year 1919. During the interwar period, there were four pro-Lusatian communities in the country, furthermore, the Polish Sorabistic recorded considerable achievements. However, the cooperation of the representatives of both nations in Germany, within the framework of the Association of National Minorities in Germany, was of particular importance. The cooperation included i.a. the electoral domain, the exposure of mutual lists, the forum of the Congresses of National Minorities in Geneva and - with regard to the school issue - the collaborative performances on the equality for minority languages. A real aid for the Sorbian activists, which were persecuted by the Nazis, gave the Union of Poles in Germany
