Effect of labor migration on economic development of the country and the regions

Summary/Abstract: In the first part of the article; the author presents the results of foreign and national research concerning the impact of the hiring the immigrants on the economy of countries and regions − in particular; the impact on the economic growth measured by GDP and the level of unemployment in the country or region and wages of local workers. In the second part of the article; basing on current statistical data; the author focuses on the effects of employment of migrants in Poland in its particular regions.
