Summary/Abstract: Remarkable progress over the course of the past four years has been made in Turkey with regards to economic reforms towards the EU accession. This paper briefly analyses Turkey’s current shape in terms of Maastricht criteria with a special reference to EU Accession Partners – Bulgaria, Croatia and Romania. It also underlines some of the major macroeconomic challenges ahead.
