Summary/Abstract: The good order and organisation of office records, standardised throughappropriate secondary legislation, are preconditions for proper archival managementof various creators. Keeping basic records on registry materials neat by their creatorsenables professional archivists to prevent, in a timely manner, the disintegration anddestruction of archivalia (archival materials) outside archives. It also helps them, after the handover of an archival fond is completed, to supply copies of documentsand other records more effectively and quickly to interested clients. The absence of legally binding records precludes the application of measuresfor the protection of archival materials. It also blocks the professional work ofarchivists outside archives and considerably weakens the existing system of the legalprotection of archival materials.
