Summary/Abstract: The paper describes psychological determinants of the relationship between organisational engagement and an awareness of the correspondence between personal values and those that guide the organisation. The first part of the paper discusses the importance of values in directing human behaviour in general, in connection with the humanistic concept of man (A. Maslow, C. Rogers). Special attention has been given to the role of values in evoking intrinsic motivation and influencing important decision-making processes. The author claims that an action based on accepted values leads to full engagement to the tasks undertaken regardless of whether they are carried out by an employee of the company or a contractor.
