Summary/Abstract: The article presents an analysis of functional and spatial changes in the former industrial area of Krakow – Zablocie. It is now increasingly fashionable location to live and invest. The article identifies new developments and their impact on the functionality of this revitalized space. The aim of the study was to verify the hypothesis of a model functional and spatial changes in the area having a local development plan and program of revitalization. Unfortunately, as a result the occurrence of dysfunctionalities of new developments were found. They happened although Zablocie (which is rare in Poland) have adopted legal and planning framework. It is sure, that they are not sufficient for creation of spatial changes, that are fully functional in the long term space usage.
