Summary/Abstract: The article analyses the Law no. 219/2015 on social economy and it has two parts. The first part presents the context and the legislative process that led to the apparition of the law on social economy in Romania. The second part consists of an analysis of the law in relation to the definition and theoretical principles of the concept of social economy. More than this, the article assesses the impact of the law on the field of social economy.One of the main conclusions of the article is that the law assumes a very restrictive position that limits itself to the integration on the labour market of people belonging to vulnerable groups.
