Summary/Abstract: Subject to investigation are bronze and iron bells, found on the territory of present-day Bulgaria, and dated mostly to the Roman period. The author interprets "the voice" of the metal as "a voice" of god/saint, thereby distinguishing it quite definitely from that of the other musical instruments of that period.
