Summary/Abstract: Aim of the study was to verify model representing relationships between selected variables and work commitment. We supposed that age of employee and character of organization have an impact both, mediate (through their influence on core job characteristics) and immediate, on work commitment. Also, we supposed that relationship between variables and work commitment will be different with regard on different form and component of work commitment. Sample was created by 93 whomen physicians working in private and state hospitals. All participants completed short version of Job Diagnostic Survey and adapted Scale of organizational and Professional commitment (Meyer, Allen). Obtained results showed support for formulated assumptions. Age of employee, character of organization and perceived core job characteristics created different patterns of relationship to different forms and component of work commitment.
